Fox Ohio Valley (WTRF-DT2) is the primary Fox and secondary MyNetworkTV-affiliated West Virginia Media station for Wheeling, West Virginia and Steubenville, Ohio. It is a second digital subchannel of CBS affiliate WTRF-TV which is owned by West Virginia Media Holdings. Over-the-air, the station broadcasts a digital signal on channel 7.2. WTRF-DT2 is also offered on Comcast cable channel 12, with studios on 16th Street in downtown Wheeling.
On weeknights, programming from MyNetworkTV airs from 11 P.M. to 1 A.M. For Saturday prime time, it airs early on Sunday morning from 12:30 to 2:30. Launched in 2007, WTRF-DT2 is the second newest channel in the Wheeling / Steubenville area (the newest being West Virginia Media's ABC Ohio Valley, launched in August of 2008). Previously, WPGH-TV out of nearby Pittsburgh served the market as the defacto affiliate. However, it is still widely available on cable in the area. WTRF-DT2 was picked up by several cable systems. Since it is on WTRF's second digital subchannel, its official call sign is WTRF-DT2. As a result of Fox and MyNetworkTV airing on WTRF-DT2 and the recent launch of ABC on WTRF's third digital subchannel, the tiny Wheeling / Steubenville market no longer lacks any major network affiliate.
